Excellent new Micropub recently opened in Burton with a fine range of ales. The 3 I tried were kept in great condition. Within spitting distance of the station and the landlord is a very personable and knowledgeable chap who likes to chat about all things real ale. I can thoroughly recommend a visit in you are in the vicinity..

Excellent new Micropub in Burton..I checked it out last Saturday and it was really buzzing. Fine selection of ales and the 3 I had were very well kept and a reasonable price, especially the Mild. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the vicinity

The Heretic is an outstanding addition to Burton’s already first rate beer scene. The beer is always in top condition, looked after by the owner, Pete, who is friendly, witty and knowledgeable about all the beers. There are always 4 beers and 4 ciders on, kept in a temperature controlled, glass fronted stillage behind the bar. Pete is looking to expand the number of beers soon.
The beer selection is always interesting with many being from further afield than the local area. Added to this there are home made cobs and a very good pork pie.
The pub itself has been very tastefully fitted out in a smart style with old wooden pews and copper topped tables. It is small enough to be cosy and to generate good conversation. An outside drinking area has been created at the back of the pub.
