The ale house is probably the smallest pub in Derbyshire. Originally a butchers shop, it is a cosy and friendly place to enjoy a drink and a chat with friends and total strangers. The bar is an old Methodist chapel pulpit!
Cider and a small selection of wine is also available. Very often the pub has musicians who turn up for an inpromptu accoustic session.

Visited this in October on a Friday Evening. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff behind the bar. Served 4 Real Ales on Hand Pumps and another 4 from the cellar, along with 3 Real Ciders.
Cheese Cobs (add your own onion) are well worth trying.
