The Beer Engine

Address:1 Albert Street,
Skipton,
BD23 1JD
Established:2014-05-01

A contemporary and immaculately presented Micropub, with wood slat panelled walls, decorated in shades of grey. Modern dark oak furnishings and comfy benched seating is provided, if one does not want to “prop up “ the small serving counter.  There are five hand pumps to titillate the taste buds. It has a unique bar area, with the casks placed behind the bar and a  pulley system is used to hoist the casks into the cabinet.

We had journeyed to a place called Thirteen13 in Settle, to see their caskwidget system (not quite a micropub but near enough) who told us about The Beer Engine. I had a very light cider which was sooo yummy, the busiest MP we have visited yet. Like the Early Doors in Northampton they had had their casks behind glass with a cooling unit, they used a hoist to get the barrels up and had neat little steel buckets. This was down a walkway and we had to ask where it was. The landlord was busy but answered a few questions for us nice and friendly place.
