The Firkin Shed is run by Paul Gray, and his two daughters, Ruby and Amber.
The idea of the The Firkin Shed stemmed from the fact that friends and family enjoyed coming to his shed and drinking his homebrew beer to the point that he eventually thought that he needed a bigger shed! So he and his friends built a shed in a bar and stocked it with quality ale. Thus the Firkin Shed was born.

This is a great place to stop and unwind with a perfectly kept pint and a relaxing friendly atmosphere.
I love the ban on mobile phones as it encourages you to actually talk to each other and anyone else in the pub as often happens!
After working in one of Bournemouth’s most famous real ale pubs for many years it’s also good to catch up with old regulars who like me rarely visit the pub after the refurb changed its personality beyond recognition. Here at the Firkin Shed we have all found that special little place that not only knows how to serve a good pint but also feels like a ‘pub’ should feel.
Great job!

I love this place. Small and cosy… you could sit and read the “wallpaper” all night rather than using a gadget. But there’s no need. Its so friendly that why wouldn’t you just have some good old fashioned conversation with a stranger that could become your new best friend. Love this pub… its unique and worth going to for that alone! Did I mention the selection of really good beers and ciders is outstanding. I’m so lucky to have this place on my doorstep :)
